Measurement mesh

1. Overview of the Measurement Mesh

The NDT Measurement Mesh feature allows operators to apply a virtual mesh over cylindrical surfaces, such as pipes or tubes. This mesh aids in capturing precise measurements, visualizing inspection data, and ensuring thorough coverage of the surface being inspected.

2. Setting Up the Measurement Mesh

  1. Initialize the Spector App: Start by launching the Spector app and ensuring that your MR device is properly calibrated for the environment.

  2. Select the NDT Measurement Mesh Tool: From the main interface, navigate to the tools section and select the "NDT Measurement Mesh" option.

  3. Apply the Mesh to the Surface: Position the cylindrical object within your MR view. The system will automatically generate and overlay the measurement mesh onto the surface.

3. Tracking Measurements on Cylindrical Surfaces

  1. Align the Mesh: Ensure that the mesh is accurately aligned with the surface contours of the cylindrical object. Adjust the mesh if necessary to fit perfectly over the object.

  2. Capture Measurements: As you conduct NDT, the mesh will track and record measurements across the cylindrical surface. The grid ensures that every point of the surface is covered.

  3. Visualize Data: The measurement data is visualized in real-time on the mesh. This allows you to immediately identify any anomalies or areas that require further inspection.

4. Reviewing and Exporting Data

  1. Review Collected Data: After completing the inspection, review the data points captured by the mesh. The mesh provides a clear visual representation of the measurements, making it easier to spot issues.

  2. Export Data: Use the Spector app to export the measurement data for further analysis or reporting. The data can be saved in various formats depending on your needs.
